Oily Hair: How To manage - An Effective Tips

Believe that God will give you the best, just what you need. It may not come in exactly the way you expected, but it will be just what is best.

OILY HAIR

The sebaceous glands produce too much oil and there are nutritional aspects which need to be corrected. There are as many as 140,000 oil glands on the scalp. Oil wicks into fine, straight hair. Wiry hair tends to be the least oily.

Oil production tends to be increased by intense heat and humidity. Hormonal changes and stress can also affect it.

Here are some suggestions:

1. Use only clear shampoos. They have less oil in them.

2. Have a double shampoo, with a rinse in between. After shampooing, feel your hair. This will help you know how well you are doing.

3. Squeeze the juice of two lemons into a pint of water and use it as a finishing rinse. This helps remove soap residues which tend to weigh down the hair. Or use an apple cider vinegarrinse. After showering and blotting the hair dry, apply the rinse and massage it through the hair. Leave it on for 5 minutes. then rinse with cool to tepid water.

4. Or use a horsetail herb rinse. It strengthens the hair shafts and reduces oil on them.

5. Do not over brush, for this carries additional oil from the roots into the hair.

6. Avoid too much fat in your diet. A diet of fried foods, saturated fats, meat, and dairy products triggers increased production of sebum. This results in an oily scalp and hair.

7. Do not use a shampoo that contains sodium lauryl sulfate or NDELA (nitrosodiethanolamine). Both are harsh and dry the scalp, perhaps causing flaking.
