Scabies

Scabies is an infectious skin disease caused by a tiny wingless insect or mites. The female insect lays 1-3 eggs daily. If untreated, the female will continue to lay eggs for about five weeks. A very small, hard to see, zigzag wound usually marks the trail of the female insect as she lays her eggs. The most obvious symptom is itching intensely especially at night. A red rash that occur in the area that has been scratched. The common body parts which can be infected with scabies are on the sides of the fingers, between the fingers, on the skin in the back of the hands, on the waist, heels, elbows, armpits, inner thighs and around the waist. The most severe is known as Norwegian scabies which needs a professional treatment.

Scabies is not only a hindrance on a healthy living but it could also be a factor of a very unhealthy lifestyle. It could be passed from human to animals which are very terrible.

So the following are some natural treatment for  this contagious disease.

One of the terrible problem in treating this disease is it takes a couple of weeks before you could  see the improvement. It is important to clean your house from scabies eggs. Bed covers, beddings, pillow cases, rags, and other clothes should be washed thoroughly. Use a few drops of Manuka oil to ensure their termination. Scabies is a contagious disease, so it is important that there should be no physical contact with anyone who is affected. If it is necessary wash your hands and bath using antiseptic soaps after getting in touch with affected patients. You could also but some commercial spray that could kill the parasites.

Tea tree oil is an effective anti-bacterial and antiseptic remedy for this disease. After taking a cool shower, apply to infected areas. Wait for 10 minutes before putting on your clothes. Clothes should be clean and comfortable to the skin.

For children, sulfur and petrolium jelly mixture could be used. These are non toxic and safe for your children. Combine a part of sulfur to 9 parts of petrolium jelly. Apply to the infected part for 30 minutes before washing off.

Garlic is a very good anti-septic, antibacterial and anti-parasite. Crush a part of garlic and apply to the perimeter of the area so that it will not continuously spread.

The parasite could affect your sleep. So it is good to avoid caffeine. So you could sleep well. Sleep is an important factor in maintaining your healthy immune system. Eat a well balanced diet. Drink supplements which can help you boosts your immune system and vitamins which could help in tissue reapair, and fight infection. Avoid dairy products, processed food and sugar.

Proper Hygiene is also an important factor. Always take a bath, clean environment could eventually kill the parasite.
